Frank is a seasoned communications professional who brings 20-years strategic marketing, business development and communications experience to the MGA team. Having begun his career as a copywriter for GPA Communications in his native Dublin, Ireland Frank moved to Northern California and wrote serious medical copy for the advertising agency Vicom Foote Cone & Belding in San Francisco. FCB's client list included Syntex, Eli Lilly, Glaxo, Smith Kline Beecham and other pharma giants.
One of FCB's clients, Bio-Rad Lifesciences recruited Frank to run their inhouse communications agency. Frank was later appointed Head of Marketing Communications for Bio-Rad's European HQ in Brussels, Belgium. After some years, Frank was headhunted by the Swedish giant Pharmacia Biotech. For 5 years, Frank led their communications efforts in Europe, focusing on advertising, public relations, media management both biotech, public and financial. Frank was a team leader in the important development of the new `look and feel´for all of Pharmacia's communications efforts.
Returning to California, Frank joined Applied BioSystems in Foster City where he spearheaded their public relations and corporate communications activities, both for ABI and for the emerging Celera Genomics who sequenced the human genome. While with ABI, Frank rewrote the bible on media management, coached senior management in how to talk to the media, and used his extensive network of trade editors to maximise publicity for new products and corporate messages.
As a consultant, Frank has worked both with start-ups and international giants. He has set up procedures and driven his communications teams to determine product marketability and implement return on investment-based communication strategies.
When not tending to client's needs, Frank plays blues guitar.
